The Many Facets of a (Pediatric) Fentanyl Case was presented by Kari M. Midthun, PhD, F-ABFT at the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS) 75th annual conference in February 2023. This presentation is an overview of a complicated pediatric fentanyl death investigation from the initial unexpected findings and discussions with detectives to revealing how the investigation and testing progressed, this case series highlights several important factors to consider when working medicolegal death investigations for any age group.
