Exposure Monitoring/Investigation; This test assesses the presence of Silicon and does NOT measure Silica or Silicone. Silica is silicon dioxide (SiO2), which is found in quartz and sand. Silicones are inert synthetic organosilicon compounds used in adhesives, sealants, lubricants, medical applications, insulation and cooking utensils

Special Handling
Immediately transfer sample to an acid washed plastic screw capped vial. Glass containers are not acceptable. Submit in container with a non-Heparin based anticoagulant. Tubes containing Heparin based anticoagulants are not acceptable.
